  1. Age- 8-12 weeks for larger breed:/12-16 weeks for smaller breeds 
  2. DHPP vaccine within 2 weeks of surgery.
  3. Deworm or negative fecal within 10 days of surgery
  4. Recommend Von Willebrand's tests on parents of Doberman Pinchers
  5. Consultation before surgery.Can be done that morning of appointment.
  6. Consultations scheduled between 9 AM and 10 AM.
  7. Out patient surgery- Puppies can go home when recovered the same day.
  8. Bring a meal of puppy's food for post-op care.
  9. Suture removal 7 days. Some cases need a few sutures removed in 12-14 days.
  10. Ears posted for healing. First posting after sutures removed included in surgery fee.Additional postings are additional cost to owner.
  11. Elizabeathan collars advised on puppies that scratch and rub sutures.
  12. Owners advised to apply topical antibiotic ointment to edges daily post-op.
  13.  Ear care by owner will determine if ears stand. Often it takes 2-6 months to train the cartilage in the ears to stand.
